| Be able to identify at least 8 common types of tree growing in your area, including both deciduous and coniferous.
| | Know how to identify trees using identification keys.
| | Prepare soil and successfully transplant a young tree. | | Understand the management of both natural woodland and commercial forests. Know the damage to which these areas may be exposed, for example through wind, frost, fire and animals | | Show how to select, use and care for appropriate equipment, and know the safety issues involved. | | Show how to fell and trim out a tree or know the principles of laying a hedge.
