In Scouting, a scout is encouraged to educate themselves instead of being instructed.

The 19th Durham Scout Group is entirely funded by voluntary donations and organised by volunteers. None of the leaders are paid for their work. |

Activity Support
If you have a particular skill you would like to share with the young people please contact us. We are interested in almost any activities (physical or otherwise) that would entertain and educate young people. We are also always looking for trips to visit places. You do not need to become a Scout Leader to help with Scouting Activities and you don't need to commit to helping on a particular basis. |
|
Other Support
The group is overseen by the Group Committee which meets approximately once every two months. The group committee are responsible for:
Maintenance of the Group's property and equipment;
Raising of funds and the administration of the Group's finance;
The insurance of persons, property and equipment;
Group public occasions;
Assisting with the recruitment of Leaders and other adult support |
